Simple Syrup
'Tis the season for lemonade and iced tea!!! Yummy! When making homemade sweetened drinks, please do not just pour sugar directly into your drink. Make a simple syrup instead.
Simply combine 1 cup water with 1 cup sugar into a small saucepan and cook over medium heat. Stir often, until the sugar has completely dissolved, 3-5 minutes. Let syrup cool.
To use: For every teaspoon of sugar you would normally use, add 1 1/2 teaspoons of simple syrup.
Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Wasn't that easy? And no yucky sugar granules left on the bottom of your glass!!!

I've always heard of simple syrup but didn't know it was so easy to make.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
I use this all the time. My husband likes his tea with out sugar. We like it with, so this comes in real handy.
