Simple Syrup

'Tis the season for lemonade and iced tea!!! Yummy! When making homemade sweetened drinks, please do not just pour sugar directly into your drink. Make a simple syrup instead.

Simply combine 1 cup water with 1 cup sugar into a small saucepan and cook over medium heat. Stir often, until the sugar has completely dissolved, 3-5 minutes. Let syrup cool.

To use: For every teaspoon of sugar you would normally use, add 1 1/2 teaspoons of simple syrup.

Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Wasn't that easy? And no yucky sugar granules left on the bottom of your glass!!!

  1. I've always heard of simple syrup but didn't know it was so easy to make.

  2. I use this all the time. My husband likes his tea with out sugar. We like it with, so this comes in real handy.
