Drop Spice Doughnuts

Drop Spice Doughnuts
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
3 cups flour
2/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 heaping tbsp. baking powder

Combine all ingredients.
Use a spoon to drop batter into hot oil.
After several minutes flip doughnuts and fry on the other side.
Check to be sure they are fried all the way through.
Place on paper towels.
Roll in granulated sugar or shake in powdered sugar.

My high school Basic Foods students loved these.
It's not something you should eat everyday...
but definately an occasional treat!

  9. These goodies remind me of the doughnut holes my parents used to make for my sister and I when we returned after a winter afternoon of ice skating on the lake next to our childhood home. They bring back so many pleasant memories. They were such a tasty treat and instantly warmed up back up!

  13. My boyscouts could not BELIEVE you can have donuts on a campout! Fried them up in a coffee can. The boys even used their fingers to get the last tiny bits of sugar off the plate. Thanks for sharing a great recipe!
